Terms of service
Last updated
These terms apply when you use tokaido.. They are deliberately short. Where something is genuinely uncertain, it says so rather than resolving the ambiguity in our favour and hoping you do not read it.
1.Your content stays yours
You own everything you put in and everything that comes out. We claim no rights over your briefs, your data or the documents you generate, and we do not use your content to train models.
You grant us only the permission needed to run the service: to store your content, process it to produce your documents, and send it to our model provider for that purpose.
2.What you are responsible for
That you have the right to use the material you upload. That the documents you publish are accurate — we generate structure and prose, but the claims are yours and you are the one signing them.
Keeping your credentials secure, and the actions taken by anyone in your organisation.
3.Accessibility, stated precisely
tokaido. produces tagged PDFs and checks each exported document against veraPDF, the ISO reference implementation for PDF/UA-1. Where a document has outstanding findings we report them rather than suppressing them. Where the checker cannot be reached, the export is reported as unchecked — that is stated as its own outcome and is never presented as a pass.
That is a check, not a warranty. Conformance also depends on what you write — an image you supply without a description, or a table used for layout, will fail regardless of what the engine does. If a document must be certified conformant, have it audited.
4.Availability
We aim to keep the service running and will tell you about planned interruptions. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, and this is not an SLA. If you need one, talk to us and we will write one.
5.Ending it
You can stop at any time and take your documents with you — export is not gated behind an active subscription. We may suspend an account for non-payment or for use that endangers the service or other customers, and we will say which.
6.Liability
To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
7.Changes
We will give reasonable notice before terms change materially. Continuing to use the service after that notice means the new terms apply.
